Sohag University football pentathlon advances to the quarter-finals of the Egyptian Universities Youth Week in Helwan
The Sohag University pentathlon team advanced to the quarter-finals, after defeating the Suez Canal University team on penalties 4-3 in an enthusiastic match filled with suspense and excitement, after the match between them ended in a positive draw 2-2, under floodlights on the playing field. Helwan University within the activities of the 13th Egyptian Universities Youth Week. This was stated by Dr. Hassan Al-Nomani, President of the University.
Dr. Yasser Taha, the team’s technical director, said that the five-a-side football team achieved this victory after its players topped the standings of the first group after defeating Mansoura University with three clean goals, defeating New Mansoura National University with the same score, and defeating Galala University with an unanswered goal, to achieve the victory. Fourth on the pentathlon presented by Suez Canal University and advances to the quarter-finals.
It is worth noting that the team consists of 8 students, under the supervision of Nashat Abbas, Director of the Sports Activity Department at the General Administration of Central Youth Welfare.
