
To hone students’ talents…Sohag University is examining aspects of cooperation with the Central Upper Egypt Cultural Region
Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani, President of Sohag University, met with Dr. Mohamed Nabil, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and President of the Central Upper Egypt Cultural Region, to discuss mechanisms for cultural cooperation between the two sides in all fields, in the presence of both Dr. Alaa Ghallab and Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hamid, coordinators of the initiative at the university, and Jalal Abu Al-Dahab, General Director of Culture. Sohag.
Al-Numani explained that this meeting came in implementation of the university’s strategy to open creative paths to students, develop their abilities, awareness and national responsibility, and encourage them to hone their talents. He discussed the implementation of a number of cultural, literary and artistic events at the beginning of the academic year 2023-2024, with the aim of discovering creative people. Of male and female students in various cultural sectors, to develop this talent and refine it with the necessary skills and knowledge.
Al-Numani added that organizing plastic art exhibitions for male and female students at the university was discussed, with the aim of developing the students’ creative abilities and giving them opportunities to participate with their artistic works in various forums, and holding hair salons with the symbols of the various schools in poetry and criticism, to straighten the paths of literary talent and interact with those interested in poetry, and Holding intellectual and awareness seminars with symbols of thought, culture, media and art, and a number of political, economic and social figures, with the aim of strengthening the values of loyalty and belonging to the homeland, and spreading the spirit of volunteer work to serve society and emulate models at all levels.
Dr. Mohamed Nabil pointed out that through cooperation, artistic concerts will be organized between popular arts and Arabic music with the aim of preserving the aesthetics of public taste, training in positive artistic taste and restoring artistic values through popular heritage, and through patriotic, valuable, religious and other songs, and holding book exhibitions. At reduced prices, with the aim of enriching each student’s private library and achieving knowledge richness, in addition to organizing competitive creative competitions among students, including the theatrical or periodic season between the university’s faculties.
