Today, Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani, President of Sohag University, inspected the Specialized Surgical Hospital Building Project for “Heart, Thoracic, Brain, and Neurological Surgeries” inside the University Hospital, to learn about the executive position related to it in preparation for receiving it next January 25, accompanied by Dr. Abdel Nasser Yassin, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Khaled. Omran, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Magdy Al-Qadi, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, Dr. Hamdi Saad, Executive Director of University Hospitals, Brigadier Khaled Halawa, representative of the National Company, and a number of project implementation officials.
During his tour, Al-Noamani stressed that the Egyptian state is moving forward towards building an integrated health system and providing comprehensive health care and coverage for all citizens, in accordance with the latest international standards, so it allocated
The state provides a percentage of government spending on establishing and developing hospitals, in addition to enhancing the readiness of the health system to deal with epidemics and emergency health risks.
The university president explained that the final preparations for the hospital building were being monitored, to provide free treatment services to the citizens of the governorate and neighboring Upper Egypt governorates, explaining that the building was designed on an area of 1400 square meters, and consists of 7 floors, a basement, and a ground floor, with a capacity of 153 beds, and includes 8 operating rooms, 4 operating rooms. Post-operative care, 57 intensive care rooms, 16 intermediate care rooms, in addition to 4 isolation rooms inside care, 8 isolation rooms outside care, and 64 patient residence rooms.
Dr. Magdy El-Kady explained that the goal of implementing these projects is to provide the best means of health care and distinguished medical services to the people of Sohag Governorate and neighboring Upper Egypt governorates, in an exemplary manner and with the latest medical devices and equipment at the hands of an integrated and highly efficient medical staff.
Dr. Hamdi Saad indicated that the construction of university hospitals is being expanded, due to the increasing number of patients attending, whether from the people of Sohag or from the governorates of South Upper Egypt, stressing that Egypt has chosen a path for comprehensive health reform, which is the implementation of the comprehensive health insurance system, which has won many praises for the success of its implementation.
