The President of Sohag University follows up on the construction of the first international gymnasium at a cost of 160 million pounds in the new headquarters
Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani, President of Sohag University, followed up on private construction works
In the international gymnasium project, “the covered hall”, on the new university campus, he was accompanied by Dr. Abdel Nasser Yassin, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Accountant Ashraf Al-Qadi, Secretary-General of the University, and Engineer Hussein Muhammadin, Director of the University’s Engineering Department.
Al-Nomani stressed the interest of the political leadership in sports and student activities
Believing in their positive role in refining students’ skills, and raising them in a sound manner based on acquiring knowledge, skills, and sports competencies, it also gives them healthy and preventive habits, and achieves psychological and emotional balance, thus sparing them the scourge of deviance and extremism, and helping them to study, adding to the importance of integrating sports into Education, so that it becomes part of it to preserve the health of our generations, in addition to creating a generation of young people capable of competing and representing Egypt in sports and international forums,
Al-Nomani explained that the Olympic Games Hall is one of five Olympic halls that meet international standards and requirements, stressing that it will create distinction and superiority in all sports services for the people of the governorate and neighboring Upper Egypt governorates, explaining that it includes a main hall, subsidiary gymnasiums, and attached gymnasiums, in addition to a hall for adults. Visitors and another hall for sports conferences, in addition to halls for various martial arts, halls for the gym, jacuzzi and sauna, and a room for commentary and television broadcasting.
Dr. Abdel Nasser Yassin added that the covered hall project is being implemented on an area of 8,000 square meters at a cost of 160 million pounds, and 30% of the project has been implemented, explaining that it is scheduled to be delivered by October 2024.
