Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani, President of Sohag University, participated in the ceremony announcing the results of the MOSAIC competition for the best Egyptian universities and research centers in innovation and cooperation with industry, which was held under the patronage and in the presence of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, this Saturday morning, which was organized by The Innovators and Geniuses Welfare Fund, on the sidelines of the meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani stressed the political leadership’s interest in providing unprecedented support to scientists and researchers to develop the field of scientific research, encourage innovation and entrepreneurship, link the research product to industry, direct scientific research to serve society, and confront the challenges facing economic growth, in order to achieve the state’s sustainable development goals, “Egypt Vision 2030.” ”
Al-Numani appreciated the important role of the Ministry of Higher Education in linking higher education and scientific research institutions with industry, which is an important step towards achieving integration and scientific and research cooperation between them, explaining that this aims to enhance the interaction between scientific research and practical application, and transform research results into solutions and innovations that can be used in Industry and other sectors, contributing to achieving comprehensive and sustainable economic growth
The university president congratulated all the winners of the competition, stressing that universities and other higher education institutions represent the driving force for research outputs and the primary source of human resources for scientific research and development.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Yasser Refaat, Deputy Minister for Scientific Research Affairs, Dr. Mahmoud Saqr, President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, Dr. Diaa Khalil, Executive Director of the Fund for Nurturing Innovators and Brilliant Persons, and Dr. Majed Ghanima, Director of Partnerships and Marketing at the Fund for Nurturing Innovators and Geniuses. Dr. Walid Al-Zawawi, Secretary of the Council of Research Centres, Institutes and Bodies, and a group of members of the Ministry and university presidents.
