Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani, President of Sohag University, announced the opening of applications for rewards to encourage scientific publishing for research published during the year 2022 AD, for a period of one month, starting next Saturday, corresponding to the 14th of this month of October.
Al-Nomani said that the university administration is keen to support knowledge and innovation through scientific research, by encouraging and motivating its faculty members and their assistants to provide more scientific research production that raises the university’s international classification, out of its belief in the importance of continuing innovation and development in the field of scientific research. Which is one of the basic pillars in achieving comprehensive development in all fields, and achieving Egypt’s Vision 2030.
The President of the University explained that the conditions for applying for rewards for publishing in a journal with an impact factor are that the research be by a researcher whose main title is Sohag University, and that the research be published in the last year before the date of applying for the award in a peer-reviewed journal according to the Quartile System of WOS classification. Members of the body are not entitled to apply. Teaching and their loaned assistants and those who are completely seconded outside the university during the year of publication of the research, and that the advanced researcher must be working at the university in the year of publication of his submitted research, and any journal that does not have an international numbering number (ISSN) will not be considered.
Dr. Ahmed Hassanein, Director of the University’s Project Management Unit, explained that the requirements for applying for the publication award are the approval of the Scientific Department and College Councils to apply for the award, and the approval of the participating researchers to apply for the award, completing the required forms and submitting a paper copy of the research, in addition to a CD containing an electronic copy. of the research, and an acknowledgment of the equal distribution of the reward among the university’s employees participating in the research, and also an acknowledgment to the researcher that the applicant will be at work in the year of publishing his submitted research, in addition to submitting a statement from the digital library or the university’s scientific publishing center indicating the classification of the research.
It is worth noting that those wishing to submit their research must communicate directly with the Project Management Unit in the Central Administration Building, or electronically through the unit’s website, in order to obtain the forms required for progress, knowing that research can be submitted in Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4, and to expand the benefit base, it has been done. Directing the inclusion of research published in international journals that do not have a Q, as well as research published in local journals that have 7 points according to the local evaluation, in the publication reward this year.
