The Center for Capacity Development of Faculty Members and University Leaders at Sohag University organized its training course on “Financial and Legal Aspects of University Business,” which targeted 20 faculty members, including assistant professors and teachers from the university’s various colleges, and continued over two days with 10 training hours, at the headquarters. The center is on the old campus.
Dr. Hassan Al-Numani, President of the University, said that the training program aimed to develop the knowledge and skills of the participants regarding the financial and legal aspects of university business, adding the importance of introducing these aspects, adopting them and applying them in managing their university business, as the training dealt with introducing the financial aspects of universities, and the items of government expenses and accounting, Introducing the concept of the university budget and its relationship to the state’s general budget, explaining the items of the university budget and its various sections according to regulations and laws, and discussing the types of budget control and the procedures and rules of control.
Dr. Anbar Mahmoud, Director of the Center, added that the training program dedicated to the legal aspects included an introduction to the organizational structure of universities and their various councils, the formation, jurisdiction and tasks of each council, an introduction to leadership positions and the tasks of each position, and an introduction to the rights and duties of a faculty member and the legal controls that relate to them. And discussing violations and the rules of the disciplinary system, noting that Dr. Abdel Mohsen Hussein, accounting teacher at the Faculty of Commerce, was present on the first day, and Dr. Hammad Mustafa Azab, former dean of the Faculty of Law at Assiut University and full-time professor of law at the Faculty of Law, Sohag University, was present on the second day.
