Prior to the start of the study marathon for the new academic year 2023-2024, Sohag University has completed its intensive preparations to receive 70,000 male and female students within 17 colleges and institutes in its old and new campuses, which is scheduled to begin next Saturday, corresponding to the 30th of this September, and the study will continue in the first semester for a period of 14 weeks. To end on January 4, 2024, according to the time map announced by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Dr. Hassan Al-Nomani, President of the University, explained that work is underway according to the comprehensive plan that was developed to complete the preparations for receiving new and old students inside the old and new university headquarters starting next week, stressing that the university always keeps in mind the interest of the university student, and works hard to provide what is necessary. Among the means of support and care, and harnessing all available capabilities to ensure the provision of the best educational services to students, and providing an academic environment that is stimulating and supportive of excellence and creativity, in addition to its full commitment to creating the appropriate atmosphere to help them succeed and excel.
Al-Numani pointed out that it was emphasized that the colleges are ready to organize the educational process from their first day, and to complete the renovation and replacement of the infrastructure and maintenance and restoration work for buildings and university cities, in addition to equipping laboratories, libraries, classrooms, and lecture halls, and providing them with the latest technological systems according to the nature of the study, to In addition to renovating the roads leading to the study halls and their exits to suit students with special needs, as well as following up on periodic cleaning, insurance and protection work inside the two campuses, and planting trees between the buildings, stressing that faculty members and department heads were alerted to quickly announce lecture schedules and complete discipline within the colleges, and the presence of faculty members. Teaching staff and their assistants on a regular basis, in order to ensure the smooth progress of the educational process, in addition to the readiness of university hospitals to provide high-quality medical service to students.
Dr. Abdel Nasser Yassin, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, said that the university administration is making unremitting efforts to ensure the regularity and success of the educational process, and also to achieve quality and excellence in education through the curricula and academic programs it offers that meet the professional standards needed by the labor market, stressing that this The year will witness a broad launch in student activities in cooperation with officials of youth welfare departments in colleges, in order to accommodate the inclinations and desires of all students in all sports, cultural, artistic, scientific, research, and other fields, indicating that preparations have been made to receive students at the beginning of the new academic year, with the implementation of Panorama. Student activities at the university campuses, which will include special introductory programs for new students about college locations, study schedules, and lecture halls, as well as introducing them to the most important university facilities and service offices, in addition to organizing a number of various activities and competitions and handing out prizes to the winners, adding that a singing and music concert for the university choir will also be organized, Providing artistic performances for the theater and folk arts team.
Abdel Nasser explained that the university cities are ready to receive male and female students at full capacity, as maintenance and renovation work has been completed for a number of buildings and study halls, as well as the restaurant and bathrooms, with the aim of improving the services provided to expatriate students, and creating an appropriate atmosphere to receive the educational process easily and smoothly.
