Sohag University President Signs a Cooperation Protocol with the Oncology Center in Sohag
Prof. Hassan Al-Noamani, President of Sohag University, signed a cooperation protocol between the Sohag Oncology Center and the university represented by the faculties of the medical sector (medicine – dentistry – pharmacy – nursing), with the aim of serving patients in Upper Egypt, meeting their needs, and improving the level of medical services provided to them, especially oncology patients.
In the presence of Prof. Magdy El-Kady, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Ahmed Hassan Abu Hashem, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Population in Sohag, Dr. Hatem Mohamed Amin, Director of the Sohag Oncology Center, and Dr. Mohamed Abdel Fattah, Director of the Technical Office of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, at the old university headquarters.
Al-Nomani said that this protocol came in implementation of the directives of the political leadership to contribute to preserving the health and safety of citizens, as it aims to cooperate to advance and improve the medical services system by providing the necessary human power to employ medical categories in various surgical and internal specialties (public and private), as well as chemotherapy and radiotherapy and Therapeutic specialties include various supporting specialties of all kinds from staff members and their assistants, as well as providing the necessary expertise to operate other services at the center in a way that ensures the provision of services to patients and raises the level of performance of workers within the health system.
The university president added that the protocol also stipulates cooperation in the scientific and research field, whereby the two parties facilitate the procedures for registering and writing dissertations in the scientific and research field by providing support to researchers, including professors, master’s and doctoral students, provided that the research results and recommendations are applied to raise the level of medical and health service and solve problems in the oncology center in Sohag and the faculties of medicine, veterinary medicine, pharmacy, science, agriculture and nursing.
Dr. Hatem Amin pointed out that the protocol also includes cooperation in the field of training in terms of exchanging experiences between the two parties in the field of education and training, organizing scientific and research conferences, workshops and continuing medical training, by providing qualified trainers to train medical and administrative staff in various medical specialties for surgical oncology ( Public and private), as well as chemotherapy, which will reflect positively on the services provided to patients.
The center will also participate in practical training for students of the colleges concerned with the protocol and participate in graduation projects and research projects, in addition to mutual cooperation for practical and theoretical training for students of faculty of Nursing .
